Bike Paths & Cycling Routes

The Town of Summitville’s extensive network of multi-use paths connects communities from Stone Creek to Riverbend. The Summit Creek Path, Silverthorn Greenway, and Coal Creek Trail offer paved routes for road cycling, commuting, and family rides. Mountain biking permitted on designated trails at Pine Valley Ranch, Elk Ridge Ranch, and Cedar Mesa Preserve.

The Moose Creek Ranch open space property encompasses 597 acres and features 10 miles of multi-use trails. Seasonal wildlife closures may apply from December 15 through July 15 to protect nesting raptors and elk calving areas.

Safety data from the Elkhorn area shows 18 reported incidents in the past 12 months, a 12% change from the previous year. The Sheriff’s Office has increased patrols along Arapahoe Road and added community outreach programs in response to resident feedback.

The Town Council will review progress on this initiative at their September 12 business meeting. Agenda items and supporting documents are posted on the Town of Summitville website 72 hours before each meeting.

The Public Works processed over 8,986 applications last year, with an average processing time of 21 business days. Staff are available at the Elkhorn office Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Public comment on this matter can be submitted through the Town of Summitville online portal, by email to Public Works, or in person at the next Town Council meeting. Written comments received by 5:00 PM the day before the hearing will be included in the public record.

The Town of Summitville has partnered with the towns of Summitville, Pinecrest, Elkhorn, and Riverbend on this project. Combined investment across all jurisdictions totals $478,000, making it one of the largest collaborative efforts in the town’s history.
