Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Planning

Prepare your household for wildfires, floods, severe weather, and other emergencies. Build an emergency kit, create a family communication plan, and sign up for Town of Summitville emergency alerts via phone, text, and email. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training offered quarterly.

Volunteers contributed over 2,057 hours to this program last year. The Public Health coordinates with 16 nonprofit partner organizations throughout the Town of Summitville to deliver services.

Affordable housing remains the top priority identified in the 2025 Community Survey. The Town of Summitville’s Community Cause program has funded 486 affordable housing units since its inception, with 125 additional units in the development pipeline.

Data from the 2025 Town of Summitville Community Survey shows that 77% of respondents rated this service as “important” or “very important.” The survey, conducted every two years, received 6,030 responses from residents across the town.

Funding of $192,000 for this initiative comes from a combination of federal grants, state matching funds, and the Town of Summitville General Fund. The Town Council approved the allocation during the 2025 budget session.

According to Robert Kim, director of Public Health, this program served 77% more residents in 2025 compared to the previous year. “We’re seeing unprecedented demand from communities across the Town of Summitville, particularly in Pinecrest and the surrounding area,” Robert Kim said.
