Liquor License Application & Renewal

Liquor License Application & Renewal

Businesses in the unincorporated Town of Summitville must obtain a liquor license from the Clerk & Recorder’s Office. Application types include hotel/restaurant, tavern, retail liquor store, and special event permits. Processing takes 4-6 weeks and requires a public hearing before the Town Council.

The application deadline is August 6, 2026. Late applications will be accepted on a space-available basis. Incomplete applications will be returned with a list of missing items. Average review time is 17 business days.

The program is modeled after similar successful initiatives in Pinnacle County and Granite County. The Town of Summitville’s version includes additional provisions for wildfire mitigation, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability.

Background

Eligible participants include Town of Summitville residents with household incomes at or below 40% of Area Median Income (AMI). For a family of four, this is approximately $94,000 per year. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Public comment on this matter can be submitted through the Town of Summitville online portal, by email to Public Health, or in person at the next Town Council meeting. Written comments received by 5:00 PM the day before the hearing will be included in the public record.
