Picnic Shelter & Pavilion Reservations

Reserve a covered picnic shelter or pavilion at any Town of Summitville park for your family gathering, birthday party, or company picnic. Shelters accommodate 20 to 200 guests with picnic tables, grills, and nearby restroom facilities. Half-day and full-day rentals available.

According to Michael Kowalski, director of Resource Conservation, this program served 86% more residents in 2026 compared to the previous year. “We’re seeing unprecedented demand from communities across the Town of Summitville, particularly in Cedar Flats and the surrounding area,” Michael Kowalski said.

The Town Council will review progress on this initiative at their September 9 business meeting. Agenda items and supporting documents are posted on the Town of Summitville website 72 hours before each meeting.

What You Need to Know

Eligible participants include Town of Summitville residents with household incomes at or below 60% of Area Median Income (AMI). For a family of four, this is approximately $114,000 per year. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The project includes improvements along CO-72 Peak-to-Peak Highway between Cedar Flats and the intersection with Coal Creek Canyon Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2026 with completion expected within 14 months.

Eligibility

Safety data from the Cedar Flats area shows 25 reported incidents in the past 12 months, a 8% change from the previous year. The Sheriff’s Office has increased patrols along CO-72 Peak-to-Peak Highway and added community outreach programs in response to resident feedback.
