Public Libraries & Hours

The Town of Summitville is served by nine public library branches in Summitville, Pinecrest, Elkhorn, Riverbend, Stone Creek, Granite Falls, Aspen Hollow, Timberline, and Cedar Flats. Services include free Wi-Fi, computer access, children’s story times, teen programs, meeting rooms, and interlibrary loans. Digital resources include e-books, audiobooks, streaming video, and online databases.

Crestland state law requires all towns to provide these services to eligible residents. The Town of Summitville exceeds minimum state requirements by offering expanded hours, multilingual support, and online access. In 2026, the town received a state award for excellence in service delivery.

The Town Council will review progress on this initiative at their September 13 business meeting. Agenda items and supporting documents are posted on the Town of Summitville website 72 hours before each meeting.

How to Participate

The Bald Mountain open space property encompasses 1,898 acres and features 4 miles of multi-use trails. Seasonal wildlife closures may apply from December 15 through July 15 to protect nesting raptors and elk calving areas.

Public comment on this matter can be submitted through the Town of Summitville online portal, by email to Transportation, or in person at the next Town Council meeting. Written comments received by 5:00 PM the day before the hearing will be included in the public record.
