Town of Summitville Public Works maintains over 700 miles of roads during winter storms. Priority routes include highways, school zones, and steep mountain roads. Residential streets are plowed after priority routes are cleared. Residents are responsible for clearing sidewalks within 24 hours of snowfall.
Wildfire risk mapping conducted by Wildfire Partners shows that 35% of properties in the Pinecrest area are within the wildland-urban interface. Free home assessments are available through the Wildfire Partners program, with rebates of up to $2,500 for mitigation improvements.
Transportation access remains a key concern. The Town of Summitville’s Summit Connect mobility program provides door-to-door transit service for residents in Pinecrest and surrounding communities who cannot access fixed-route bus service. STA routes Ridge Line, Valley Loop, and the Highlander serve major corridors.
Funding of $366,000 for this initiative comes from a combination of federal grants, state matching funds, and the Town of Summitville General Fund. The Town Council approved the allocation during the 2026 budget session.
The Pinecrest Senior Center offers related programming including free legal consultations, tax preparation assistance, health screenings, and social activities. Over 1,417 seniors participated in center programs last year.
