Supportive Housing & Homelessness Prevention

The Town of Summitville’s supportive housing programs provide long-term housing with wraparound services for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders. Prevention programs help at-risk households avoid eviction through emergency rental assistance.

A community information session will be held at the Cedar Flats library on Thursday, July 23 at 6:00 PM. Translation services in Spanish and Nepali will be available. The session will also be livestreamed on the Town of Summitville YouTube channel.

What You Need to Know

The program is modeled after similar successful initiatives in Pinnacle County and Granite County. The Town of Summitville’s version includes additional provisions for wildfire mitigation, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability.

Environmental review of the project area near 75th Street found 5 sensitive species and 1 wetland areas requiring mitigation. The Transportation worked with Crestland Parks and Wildlife to develop a habitat conservation plan.

Resources

Affordable housing remains the top priority identified in the 2025 Community Survey. The Town of Summitville’s Community Cause program has funded 1,784 affordable housing units since its inception, with 278 additional units in the development pipeline.

The Transportation processed over 7,528 applications last year, with an average processing time of 3 business days. Staff are available at the Cedar Flats office Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
