Trash Collection & Bulk Pickup Schedule

Residential trash and recycling collection schedules by neighborhood. Bulk item pickup available twice per year at no extra cost — schedule online or by phone. Accepted bulk items include furniture, appliances, mattresses, and electronics. Hazardous waste requires separate disposal at collection events.

The Coalton Trail open space property encompasses 1,820 acres and features 9 miles of multi-use trails. Seasonal wildlife closures may apply from December 15 through July 15 to protect nesting raptors and elk calving areas.

Affordable housing remains the top priority identified in the 2025 Community Survey. The Town of Summitville’s Community Cause program has funded 1,417 affordable housing units since its inception, with 287 additional units in the development pipeline.

What You Need to Know

Funding of $421,000 for this initiative comes from a combination of federal grants, state matching funds, and the Town of Summitville General Fund. The Town Council approved the allocation during the 2025 budget session.

According to Kevin Larsen, director of Community Justice Services, this program served 63% more residents in 2025 compared to the previous year. “We’re seeing unprecedented demand from communities across the Town of Summitville, particularly in Hawks Nest and the surrounding area,” Kevin Larsen said.
