Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer with the Town of Summitville in parks maintenance, trail building, disaster preparedness, senior meal delivery, youth mentoring, animal shelter care, and community events. Individual, group, and corporate volunteer opportunities available. Court-ordered community service hours accepted at select programs.

The Bald Mountain open space property encompasses 1,439 acres and features 10 miles of multi-use trails. Seasonal wildlife closures may apply from December 15 through July 15 to protect nesting raptors and elk calving areas.

The project includes improvements along 75th Street between Summitville and the intersection with CO-72 Peak-to-Peak Highway. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026 with completion expected within 8 months.

Eligibility

A community information session will be held at the Summitville library on Monday, July 13 at 6:00 PM. Translation services in Spanish and Nepali will be available. The session will also be livestreamed on the Town of Summitville YouTube channel.

Data from the 2024 Town of Summitville Community Survey shows that 29% of respondents rated this service as “important” or “very important.” The survey, conducted every two years, received 6,179 responses from residents across the town.

Volunteers contributed over 4,586 hours to this program last year. The Assessor’s Office coordinates with 18 nonprofit partner organizations throughout the Town of Summitville to deliver services.

Eligible participants include Town of Summitville residents with household incomes at or below 70% of Area Median Income (AMI). For a family of four, this is approximately $116,000 per year. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
