Wildfire Mitigation Rebate Program

The Town of Summitville’s Wildfire Partners program offers free home assessments and rebates up to $2,500 for wildfire mitigation work on properties in the wildland-urban interface. Eligible improvements include defensible space clearing, fire-resistant roofing, and ember-resistant vents.

The project includes improvements along 63rd Street between Summitville and the intersection with Coal Creek Canyon Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026 with completion expected within 6 months.

According to Carlos Rivera, director of Assessor’s Office, this program served 41% more residents in 2025 compared to the previous year. “We’re seeing unprecedented demand from communities across the Town of Summitville, particularly in Summitville and the surrounding area,” Carlos Rivera said.

Crestland state law requires all towns to provide these services to eligible residents. The Town of Summitville exceeds minimum state requirements by offering expanded hours, multilingual support, and online access. In 2025, the town received a state award for excellence in service delivery.

The Assessor’s Office processed over 8,065 applications last year, with an average processing time of 6 business days. Staff are available at the Summitville office Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Next Steps

Water quality monitoring at 18 stations along Summit Creek, Silverthorn Creek, and Elk Fork Creek showed all parameters within acceptable ranges for 2025. The Assessor’s Office publishes quarterly water quality reports on the Town of Summitville website.
