Town Council Approves FY2027 Budget
The Summitville Town Council voted unanimously this week to adopt the Town’s budget for the 2027 fiscal year, setting spending priorities that lean heavily toward road maintenance, parks, and the long-term reliability of the municipal water system.
The $14.2 million budget was approved at the Council’s regular meeting following two public hearings and several weeks of work sessions. Mayor Eleanor Whitfield praised the process as one of the most collaborative in recent memory, crediting both staff and residents who turned out to share their priorities.
Where the money goes
The largest share of new capital spending is directed at the Town’s aging street network, with a multi-year repaving program that begins next spring. Council members heard repeatedly from residents that potholes and winter road damage were a top concern.
