Winter Snow Operations Plan and Parking Restrictions Begin
With the first snows already dusting Summit Peak, the Town of Summitville is putting its winter snow operations plan into effect. Seasonal parking restrictions begin November 1 and run through April 15.
Public Works crews have spent the fall readying plows, restocking sand and de-icer, and reviewing routes so that the Town’s streets stay safe and passable through the long mountain winter. At 8,412 feet, Summitville sees more than its share of snow, and an efficient response depends on cooperation from residents.
Parking restrictions are back
From November 1 through April 15, overnight on-street parking is prohibited between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM so that crews can plow curb to curb. During a declared snow emergency — triggered when two inches or more is forecast — vehicles must be moved off designated snow routes until plowing is complete.
- No overnight on-street parking, 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM, November 1 through April 15
- Move vehicles off snow routes when an emergency is declared
- Do not push or blow driveway snow into the street
- Clear adjacent sidewalks within 24 hours of a storm
The Town plows primary routes and emergency corridors first, followed by residential streets. Please give crews room to work and do not crowd plows on the road.
