Public Notice: Comment Period Opens on Parks & Rec Master Plan
PUBLIC NOTICE: The Town of Summitville has opened a 30-day public comment period on the updated Parks & Recreation Master Plan. Residents are invited to review the draft and share their input before it goes to the Town Council.
The master plan is the Town’s long-range guide for parks, trails, open space, and recreation programs over the next ten years. The updated draft reflects more than a year of work by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, staff, and a consultant team, informed by community surveys and a series of public workshops.
How to participate
The draft plan is available for review at Town Hall and on the Town website. Written comments will be accepted through the close of the comment period. The Advisory Board will review all input before forwarding a final recommendation to the Council.
- Review the draft plan at Town Hall or online
- Submit written comments to the Town Clerk by mail or email
- Speak during public comment at an upcoming Council meeting
- Attend the open house scheduled during the comment period
Key themes in the draft include expanding the trail network, improving accessibility at existing parks, and strengthening youth and senior programming at the recreation center.
Comments may be sent to the Town Clerk’s office or delivered in person during business hours. The Town encourages every resident to weigh in on the future of Summitville’s parks and trails.
